Merrill Police reports

August 10
12:06 a.m.- A caller reported a roommate had entered the residence through a window after being locked out. It was explained officers could not take enforcement action as she resides at the residence.
2:10 a.m.- A caller reported the odor of marijuana coming from an apartment. Officers did not smell the odor of marijuana as such no further action was taken.

August 11
4:15 p.m.- A juvenile called 911 to report a deceased skunk in the roadway. The child was spoken to about the proper use of 911.
5:11 p.m.- A caller reported finding several bags of clothing and personal property along Main St. Some phone numbers amongst the property led to the owner’s mother being contacted. The mother resides in Tennessee and was concerned for her daughter’s safety. Officers were able to track down the female who was staying with a friend in Merrill. She suspected her boyfriend placed her property along the road as he was upset she was staying with her friend. Her property was returned to her.

August 12
7:27 p.m.- A caller reported his ex-girlfriend had moved out and taken property belonging to him. The ex-girlfriend denied taking the item in question. It was explained the two would have to work out property disputes in civil court.
10:40 p.m.- An officer was flagged down in the 100 block of Prospect St. A female had yelled to a driver after observing her texting and driving. The driver then circled the block several times yelling vulgarities and a racial remark at the group of people. The driver was cited for disorderly conduct.
