Wit’s End Day Spa, owned by cosmotologist/aesthetician Thea Witucki, opened at 718 E. Second St. in Merrill on Feb. 1, 2016.
Witucki has been working in the salon business for four years. Her friend, cosmotologist/nail technician Bre Yellstrom also works at Wit’s End. Witucki said the response from the community has been good.
“I wanted this to be different from any other salon in Merrill,” Witucki said. “It’s been really busy, considering that neither of us have worked in Merrill a long time.”
Prior to Wit’s End, the building was most recently home to Stacy Literski Photography. What is now Wit’s End was actually two buildings; the wall separating them was removed during the remodeling process.
Witucki bought the buildings in October of 2015 and embarked on a complete interior remodel. Some walls were moved and the drop ceiling was raised; topped off with new drywall and paint. The interior brickwork was kept intact as much as possible.
Two apartments at the rear of the building have also been renovated.
All the fixtures and equipment are brand new.
Wit’s End Day Spa offers hair services, coloring, hair removal, nail services and skin services. The business is open Mondays from 10 a.m.-7 p.m.; Tuesdays and Wednesday from 10 a.m.-8 p.m.; Thursdays from 10 a.m.-6 p.m.; Fridays from 10 a.m.-3 p.m.; and Saturdays by appointment.
