Young entrepreneurs from across the area will showcase their skills and offer their products for sale at the second annual Kid’s Business Fair, set for this Saturday, April 11, 2026, from 9 a.m. to noon at Les & Jim’s Lincoln Lanes. And though the creators of the products and the businesses are young, their offerings are anything but elementary.
Shoppers can expect a wide variety of handmade goods, including baked goods, jewelry, soaps, freeze-dried candies, art kits, slime, popcorn, doll clothes, 3D toys and decor, and more. Kids may sell handmade items, resale products, food, games, or services — but if items are handmade, they must be made by the child. Admission for shoppers is free.
The event, hosted in partnership with the Merrill Optimist Club, is open to young entrepreneurs ages 5–17 and gives kids a chance to sell their handmade products in a supportive, community setting. Last year’s fair drew around 30 booths and was well-received by shoppers and participants alike.
Organizer Laura Bares said the event is about more than just sales. “I want to give the kids the opportunity to showcase their talents in a supportive environment,” she said.
“By attending, you’re not just shopping — you’re encouraging and inspiring the next generation of business owners,” Bares said. “These kids have put in countless hours creating their products, designing their booths, and learning valuable skills.”
