Cold, rainy weather didn’t keep Merrill’s ghosts, superheroes, and princesses from collecting their candy on Halloween.
Trick-or-treating ran citywide from 4 to 7 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 31, 2026. Many families made a full day of it. They started at Trunk or Treat events hosted by area churches, where volunteers handed out treats from decorated car trunks or stations indoors
Costumed kids also visited area nursing homes, bringing smiles to residents along the way. Then they headed out door to door during the citywide trick-or-treat hours.
Some residents said turnout was a little lower than usual because of the weather. Still, plenty of kids braved the chill and drizzle and went home with full bags.
