Weinbrenner wins Wisconsin Manufacturer of the Year

Weinbrenner Shoe Company was named one of Wisconsin’s top manufacturers, earning the Manufacturer of the Year Grand Award in the Large Business Category at the 36th Annual Wisconsin Manufacturer of the Year (MOTY) Awards held on Thursday, Feb. 20, 2025, in Madison.
The awards program, hosted by Baker Tilly, Michael Best & Friedrich LLP, and Wisconsin Manufacturers & Commerce (WMC), highlights Wisconsin manufacturers for their contributions to the state’s economy, workforce, and business practices. Weinbrenner Shoe Company was selected for its performance in areas such as financial growth, innovation, sustainability, and employee development.
Weinbrenner Shoe Company, headquartered in Merrill, is known for its Thorogood® boots, American-made footwear worn by workers, first responders, and outdoor enthusiasts nationwide, and their focus on craftsmanship, product innovation, and community reinvestment.

The Manufacturer of the Year Awards recognize companies based on factors including technological advances, product development, environmental solutions, operational efficiency, employee support, and research and development. Winners were selected by an independent panel of judges.

Manufacturing is Wisconsin’s largest industry, employing 18.4% of the state’s workforce and generating nearly $72 billion in annual economic output.
Weinbrenner’s recognition highlights its role in Merrill’s local economy and its commitment to maintaining a skilled workforce.
