Sandra S. "Sandy" Myre, age 82, of Tomahawk, WI, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, August 17, 2026. Sandy was born on January 14, 1944, to the late Melvin and Harriett (Hetzel) Sukow. She graduated from high school in Merrill, WI, and attended business school for one year in Green Bay, WI. She was then hired by Schneider Transport in Green Bay. It was during this time, at a hunting shack with her sister, Sharon, that Sandy met the love of her life, Gregg Myre.
In the 1960s, Sandy worked as a waitress at the Midget Supper Club and also worked at Silver Birch. In 1972, she became Gregg's secretary, partner, and right-hand woman when they founded Myre Electric. In the early years, they worked out of a station wagon while raising three young boys. Sandy handled the office and was never afraid to join Gregg on the job.
Sandy later worked in maintenance at the Owens-Illinois Paper Mill in Tomahawk. After sustaining a back injury, she became secretary to Dave LaMere before returning to Myre Electric. Together, Sandy and Gregg built the company into much more than an electrical contracting business. Over the years, Myre Electric offered televisions, VCRs, home appliances, lighting fixtures, satellite dishes, and cellular phones. Sandy's memorable sales pitch for cell phones earned her the nickname "The Uptown Girl." She retired in 2014 after a lifetime of dedication and hard work.
Sandy was never afraid of hard work, nor was she afraid to tell it like it was. Sassy, spirited, and lovingly nicknamed the "Queen of Tomahawk" by her family, she had an infectious smile and brought a bright, sparkling light into every room she entered.
Athletic in her younger years, Sandy played and coached softball alongside her friend, Mona Whitaker, whom she now joins in Heaven. She coached the Heafford Hawkettes girls' softball team to a remarkable undefeated season that made the news.
Sandy loved camping and spending time at the hunting shack in Sayner, WI, where Saturday nights were often spent singing along to the oldies around a campfire. She enjoyed ice fishing from her Ice Castle on the Willow and treasured her four-wheeler, which was truly her pride and joy. She took it everywhere - to the grocery store, shopping, and anywhere else she needed to go.
She loved flowers, tending to her yard, boating, and being outdoors. She took tremendous pride in watching her children and grandchildren succeed. Above all else, Sandy loved her family and her beloved Mitzi. She could often be seen around town with Mitzi perched on her pillow beside her.
Sandy was especially proud of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She treasured their snuggles, laughter, joy, and mischief, all of which kept her young at heart. She now joins her cherished great-granddaughter, Lily Rose, in Heaven.
Everyone seemed to know Sandy, and Sandy never knew a stranger - only someone she had not met yet. If you met her, you remembered her. She touched countless lives, even through the briefest encounters. She was also known for leaving behind her special mark: a patented red-lipstick kiss. If you were lucky enough to receive Sandy's "brand," you knew she truly liked you.
Sandy lived life at full throttle. There was never a dull moment when she was near, and her hugs were as warm as fresh-baked bread. Full of life, love, laughter, and unmistakable sparkle, Sandy was loved by people throughout Tomahawk and across the country.
Survivors include her husband, Gregg L. Myre; her sons, Bill (Laura) Grossman, Randy (Joanne) Myre, Robin (Laurie) Myre, and Ricky (Roxanne) Myre; and her daughter, Nicole (Jim) Braun. She is also survived by her sisters, Sharon Peterson and Donna (Carl) Bucks; and her sister-in-law, Rome Peterson. Sandy is further survived by her grandchildren, Tasha (Amber) Myre, Sandi (Josh) Salmons, Steph (Jason) Sly, Shannon (Justin) Kuck, Tim (Taylor) Grossman, Nick (McKenna) Myre, Cody (Karlie) Myre, Eric (Sam) Grossman, Cassidy (Jason) Speich, Kyle (Hailey) Myre, Sydney (Zach) Lorang, Casey Myre, Gavin Myre, and Heather (Jordan) Kalous. She is also survived by her great-grandchildren, Hayes, Stevie, Dorothy, Ella, Body, Quinny, Cain, Darren, Carlie, Clara, Chloe, Kinelly, Mason, Nora, Korbin, Sage, Madden, Kia, Becca, Sage, Madden, Theo, Evelyn, Huxley, and Holland.
