Merrill Varsity Football season comes to a close during Level 2 playoff game

The Merrill Varsity Football Team saw an end to their 2025 season on Friday, Oct. 31, 2025, at Grafton High School in level 2 of the playoffs.
“We had the long trek down to Grafton on Friday night to face off with the #1 seeded Grafton Blackhawks,” Merrill Varsity Head Football Coach Jason Wadzinski said.
“The game quickly got out of hand for us and Grafton showed everyone why they were the #1 rank in Division 3,” he said. In the end, the Bluejays suffered a 59-0 loss to the Blackhawks.
“Despite the lopsided defeat, I’m so incredibly proud of how our boys fought the entire game,” Wadzinski said. “There was no let up, and that’s a testament to their character and grit.”
“Level 2 was the furthest the Merrill Bluejays have advanced to in 15 years, and that’s a direct reflection on the Seniors and the work they put in during last offseason,” he said. “2025 is in the books, and what a season it was.”
