Virgil and Elaine Lezotte of Merrill will mark a huge milestone in their lives later this month — 70 years of marriage — surrounded by family and friends at a celebration in their honor.
The couple wed on May 26, 1956, in Neillsville, and spent the seven decades since then building a life together, defined by family, laughter, and community. The Lezottes relocated to Merrill in 1971, where they built their home and raised their family.
Together, Virgil and Elaine are the parents of five children — all graduates of Merrill Senior High School. Their children are: Linda (Mark) Berres of Marshfield; Steven (Mary) Lezotte of Merrill; Renee (Don Hazaert) Lezotte of Neenah; Christopher (Erin) Lezotte of Waunakee; and Jason Lezotte of Merrill.
The family has also grown to include 15 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
If you happen to spot this beloved couple around town — they’re known to frequent Culver’s and McDonald’s — don’t miss the chance to offer your congratulations on this extraordinary milestone anniversary.
