Joan Krohn, 68 of Merrill was welcomed home by Jesus November 20, 2025 after a 6-month fight with cancer.
Joan is survived by her husband Jon and her son Ted (Kelsey), grandchildren Dottie, Jamie and Alexander - Marshfield, son Peter - Merrill, daughter Maggie - Fargo, ND and daughter Anne – Madison.
Joan retired in 2017 as the principal of the Pine River School for Young Learners. Joan loved the outdoors, especially Lake Superior, and true to her Norwegian heritage felt that there was no such thing as bad weather, only bad clothing.
Joan and her family would especially like to thank the caregivers from Aspirus home hospice care for all their support.
Per Joan’s wishes, the family will conduct a private memorial at a future date.
If you wish to remember Joan, go out for a walk and enjoy the outdoors. Also consider giving a child in need something special for Christmas.
