Grants double diaper giveaway at local diaper closet

Posted

Families who visit the Love the Littles Diaper Closet will now be able to go home with twice as many diapers per visit, thanks to grants from the Green Bay Packers Foundation and the Merrill Community Foundation.
The diaper closet, which operates out of Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church, was named a 2026 Green Bay Packers Foundation grant recipient and received a $3,000 grant. It also received a $5,900 grant from the Merrill Community Foundation.
Formerly, families received one package of 25 diapers per visit. The new funding will allow the closet to give out two packages per visit.
“I expect that the generous grants from these two foundations will make it possible for us to hand out two packages of diapers for the next six months,” said Project Coordinator Brenda Mueller. “We continue to depend on contributions from individuals, organizations, and businesses in Merrill in order to offer this service.”
“With the economy challenging for many, we hope that by receiving double the number of diapers each visit, we are able to take some of the financial pressure off those in need,” Mueller said.

Mueller also thanked both foundations for supporting the Merrill community and local organizations like the diaper closet.
The Love the Littles Diaper Closet, 300 Logan St., is open from 3 to 5 p.m. the second Tuesday and from 9 to11 a.m. the fourth Saturday of each month. No screening is required, and families may visit up to 12 times per calendar year. Products are available for everyone from infants to adults.
