Beta Sigma Phi sponsors Raymer for Badger Girls State

Posted

The WI Phi Master Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi has selected Emily Raymer as its 2026 sponsored delegate to American Legion Auxiliary Badger Girls State, held this summer in Oshkosh.
Raymer, a Merrill High School (MHS) student and daughter of Debbie Mielke and Mark Raymer, was nominated by her teachers based on her school involvement and attitude. She is one of several area students who will attend the annual civic program.
At MHS, Raymer is a member of the Cheer Squad and works as an IT student worker. Her background includes six years of dance training, which recently led to a performing role in a production of “Shrek” staged in Wausau. She was also part of the cast of “Honk!” — the Ugly Duckling musical, performed at MHS.
Raymer just enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps delayed entry program. Both of her parents are military veterans.
Her summer schedule extends beyond Badger Girls State. Raymer plans to study criminal justice at Nicolet College, travel to Colorado with her mother to train service dogs, and volunteer with her father at the Minnesota Red Wing Pottery Convention.
Beta Sigma Phi, a cultural, social and educational sorority, has sponsored a junior girl for Badger Girls State each year. To help fund Raymer’s participation, WI Phi Master Chapter held a garage sale May 16; Westside Market donated brats and fixings which were also sold that day.
Donations to the WI Phi Master Badger Girls State Fund are welcome. Checks may be made out to WI Phi Master c/o Lynne Reindl, Treasurer, and mailed to PO Box 317, Merrill, WI 54452.
