Lincoln and Marathon County farmers and rural residents will have a chance to hear from two candidates for Wisconsin’s 7th Congressional District when local agriculture groups host a virtual town hall Thursday, Oct. 22, 2026.
Candidates Fred Clark and Michael Alfonso have confirmed they will take part in the forum, which runs from noon to 1:30 p.m. The event is free and open to the public, but attendees must register in advance to receive a link to join. The registration url is: business.wisconsinfarmersunion.com/ap/Events/Register/nvFlWgXFECNCZ.
The Lincoln County Farm Bureau is among more than a dozen county chapters of the Wisconsin Farm Bureau Federation and Wisconsin Farmers Union co-hosting the event. Other Farm Bureau hosts include the Barron, Clark, Marathon, Polk-Burnett, Price, St. Croix, Superior Shores, Taylor, and Wood County chapters. Farmers Union hosts include the Ashland-Bayfield, Barron, Marathon, Taylor-Price, and St. Croix County chapters.
Organizers describe the town hall as a non-partisan, informational forum. Candidates will answer questions on agriculture and rural issues prepared ahead of time by the hosting chapters. Attendees can also submit their own questions during the event, which may be addressed as time allows.
Because the forum is a 501(c)(3) educational event, discussion will stay focused on issues that matter to farmers and rural residents in the 7th District.
The Wisconsin Farm Bureau Federation and Wisconsin Farmers Union are the state’s two largest general agricultural organizations, representing producers of all types, from conventional and organic operations to dairy, grain, livestock, and specialty crops. Both groups have chapters across Wisconsin, with local leaders organizing events in their own communities.
