The East Merrill United (EMU) Blackjacks Varsity Hockey Team played against Shawano-Bonduel-Clintonville High School Hockey Team on Tuesday, Nov. 23, 2021, and emerged victorious. In other words, they won! The Blackjacks’ Andrew Franken and Nick Bodner both scored in the second period, with Bodner getting two goals, assisted first by Eli Pagel and then by Zach Pagel and Eli Pagel both.
In the third period, Shawano-Bonduel-Clintonville’s Noah Davids scored the lone goal for their team.
The Blackjacks also had a busy and successful third period, scoring another three points. Eli Pagel scored one with an assist from Nick Townsend; Nick Bodner scored one; and Zach Pagel scored the final goal with an assist from Eli Pagel and Colton Betro.
Head Coach Nathan Pagel cited a few players that were strong overall, including Jake Furrer, Andrew Franken, Zach Pagel, Eli Pagel, Nick Bodner, and Kaeden Grusnick.
“Our Goalie held strong with taking 25 shots and only letting the 1 in,” he added.
