A panel of judges from the Friends of Council Grounds State Park (CGSP) have selected the three finalists in each of four categories in the Annual Friends of Council Grounds State Park Photography Contest. The four categories are: People Using the Park, Wildlife, Landscape, and Plants. This year there were a total of 32 entries from people living in Merrill and other Wisconsin cities. Now it’s time to narrow the finalists and select the four winners.
“Photos will be on a poster for viewing in person at the [Council Grounds State] Park Contact station and T.B. Scott Library beginning August 15th,” said Laurie Nikolai-Svetlik member of the Friends of CGSP. “Also on Friends of Council Grounds State Park Facebook page August 15th until voting ends Sept 15th.”
“Please observe any masking restrictions when viewing photos in person,” she reminded. “Each person may vote for a 1st and 2nd choice favorite in each category only one time. Duplicate votes will not be counted.”
Winning photos will be displayed locally, shared on the Friends Facebook page, and be used on greeting cards sold at the CGSP office and in future promotional materials for CGSP or the Friends group.
