Kate Goodrich Elementary 4th Grader Raiyna Perez has been selected Student of the Week for the week of Monday, Jan. 25. Daughter of Emmanuel and Rachel Perez, Raiyna was nominated by her teacher, Mrs. Susan Palecek.
“Raiyna’s leadership and positive attitude makes our classroom a welcoming environment each day,” Mrs. Palecek said in her nomination. “She leads with respect and compassion, always
acting with integrity and willing to help her classmates. Raiyna loves to instill compliments into our day to make everyone smile. Her generous spirit matches her incredible zest for learning! We are all so incredibly proud of Raiyna!”
When asked her favorite subject in school, Raiyna responded, “I like reading because I can just really get into a good book, and I love reading to my partner to practice reading fluently, and my partner gives me tips to work on.” Raiyna said, “My favorite part of school would be learning with the teacher and having fun by playing and learning with my friends. I especially like to learn as a team during math, reading, and Phy Ed.”
Some day, Raiyna said, “I would like to be a teacher because I enjoy learning and teaching my friends things that they might need help with.”
