Margaret Lu Taylor

Margaret Lu Taylor, age 94, passed away on Saturday, November 28, 2020, at Pine Crest Nursing Home in Merrill.  She was the only child born to Vern & Thelma (Van Gordan) Farrar on September 14, 1926, in Janesville, WI.  Despite being an only child, she had many cousins in Mercer, WI whom she considered her siblings.  Margaret grew up helping out in her father’s bakeries in various towns throughout Wisconsin.  She enjoyed filling jelly doughnuts even though she often overfilled them.  It was from this experience she became an accomplished baker and gourmet cook, often hosting beautiful dinner parties for friends and family.  Margaret was artistic and had an eye for detail and color.  She excelled at interior design and was very proud of her home.  Margaret had positions in the service industry over the years, working as a Retail Store Manager, Home Health Aide/CNA and Waitress.  She had a generous heart and provided for many family and friends when in need.  Most importantly, Margaret loved her family and was much loved in return.

Margaret is survived by her children Barbara Schuster, Beverly (Rick) Henrichs, Mark Allen, and Joanne (Monty) Sczygelski, all of Merrill, WI; Grandchildren Jamie Schwartz, Laureen Podeweltz (Jim Streeter), Brian Schwartz, Amy David, Robbin Seehafer (Jan Kelleher), Christine (Jesse) Zuelsdorff, Luke Allen, Seth (Christi Klade) Sczygelski, Jake (Corrina) Sczygelski, Cole (Katie) Sczygelski, Mindy Sczygelski, Emily (Cole Asinas) Sczygelski and Adam Sczygelski.  She is further survived by her Great grandchildren Evelyn and Kylo Allen,  Valerie (Jeremy) Wilmink, Olivia (Brogan) Aarrestad, Noah Wilmink, Schylur Seehafer, Jennifer Podeweltz, Ian Fisher, Jordan Schwartz, Lauren, Chazz and Morgan David, Courtney Sczygelski, Megan Roberts, Adeline Sczygelski, Liam Asinas, Thomas Sczygelski and 2 unborn granddaughters, and 12 Great-Great grandchildren.  Margaret was preceded in death by her parents, former husband Joseph Taylor, son-in-law Donald Schuster, and infant grandson.   Special thanks from the family to the staff at Pine Crest Nursing Home for their loving care of our Mother over the years and Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice.
