Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church to host Quilting Day

A centuries-old tradition will be recreated on Quilting Day: Saturday, February 1 at Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church.
From 8:30 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. the public is invited to join in cutting, stitching and tying to make quilts for people in need of warmth and comfort around the world. Drop in for an hour or stay all day. A light lunch will be even mid-day.
Everything needed for quilt-making will be provided. There’s a task for every skill level, from tying knots and cutting squares on up. Beginners are welcome!
Quilts will be distributed through Lutheran World Relief, a nonprofit organization established in 1945. The organization received the highest possible scores from Charity Navigator and the Better Business Bureau in their recent annual report. Lutheran World Relief’s website states, “From poverty and conflict to drought and typhoon, the intensity of human needs continues to increase.” Your hands can help meet those needs.
