Merrill Police Department Calls for Service

December 10
At 8:10 a.m., an officer had stopped at a gas station to purchase an item and during this; the manager had confronted another customer about stealing items. The officer made contact with the male party who had concealed a pair of sunglasses and did not have money to pay for them. The male was arrested for retail theft and 5 counts of bail jumping.

At 3:47 p.m., officers responded to the office of Probation and Parole to take a male party into custody for a probation violation. The male was transported to the jail.

December 11
At 2:19 p.m., officers responded to a domestic incident. A male party had strangled a female party during an argument then fled on foot. The male party was later located and was arrested. He was charged with domestic disorderly conduct, domestic battery, strangulation, and three counts of felony bail jumping. He also had an active warrant for his arrest.

December 12
At 4:48 p.m. officers responded to a local business for a report of a recently fired employee returning to the business. During his termination, the male party was told by an officer and the administration that he was not allowed on the premises. The former employee was reported to be at the business and refusing to leave. The party did leave once law enforcement was called and was gone prior to officers arriving. An officer attempted contact via phone with the adult male party and left a voicemail. The male party had his mother call the officer back where expectations were delivered once again.

At 10:32 p.m. officers were dispatched to a welfare check complaint. The caller stated their neighbor was yelling and screaming in the apartment complex. Contact was made with the female, who had been warned previously for the same behavior. The female was cited for disorderly conduct.

12-14-19

At 8:02 p.m. a caller reported someone had caused damage to her vehicle sometime in the past couple of days. The damage was possibly caused by a snowplow.

At 8:14 p.m. am officer responded to an address in the 400 block of West Main St after a caller advised of a wanted parties location.  The officer made contact with the wanted person and they were arrested on an active Lincoln County warrant.
