M.A.C.R seeks volunteers, sponsors

Merrill Area Community Rides (M.A.C.R) -formerly known as the Merrill Community New Year Ride- will soon kick off their 2020 fundraising campaign, and they could use your help!
In fulfilling its mission of bringing the community together to enjoy an array of fun, outdoor recreational activities, while supporting fellow community members and organizations in need; M.A.C.R conducts three fundraising events every year. The Sleds ‘N Jams snowmobile ride and poker run is hosted every February, Mud ‘N Jams ATV ride and poker run in June and Rosco’s Ride motorcycle ride and dice run in September. As part of each event are prize and cash giveaways, live music and more!
Proceeds from each event are then donated to community members and organizations in need.

In an effort to bolster their fundraising efforts, M.A.C.R would like to build its volunteer base and expand the organization’s partnerships with the local business community. After all, without the generous support and assistance of the Merrill community and surrounding areas, the organization could not accomplish its sole goal of neighbors helping neighbors.
Those interested in volunteering during M.A.C.R events-such as assisting with event set-up, activities, food preparation etc- may contact volunteer coordinator Dennis Fick (715) 203-6518, email M.A.C.R at [email protected] or visit M.A.C.R on facebook https://www.facebook.com/RideMerrill/

Those interested in learning more about M.A.C.R,  becoming a sponsor or making a generous tax-deductible donation, are also welcome to email or contact M.A.C.R via facebook, or contact board chair Jeremy Ratliff (715) 536-8494.
The 2nd Annual Sleds ‘N Jams snowmobile ride and poker run fundraiser is set for Saturday, Feb.15 at B’s Club 107 in Merrill. This year, the event will be in support of the Hommerding Family and their recovery effort from a devastating house fire in September of 2018.

Merrill Area Community Rides is a charitable organization founded in Merrill in October of 2016. The organization’s Board of Directors meets at 6 p.m. on the last Thursday of every month at the AmericInn of Merrill. All meetings are open to the public.
Since its inception, M.A.C.R has partnered with our generous community to raise over $10,000 in support of fellow community members and organizations in need.
