All of us at MAPS truly hope you are enjoying your time with your children this summer. While the recent storms brought challenges to some of us, it’s nice to feel the warmer temperatures and enjoy the beauty of the area.
Strategic Planning – A Community Conversation MAPS completed its strategic planning meetings this past Spring. We received excellent input from the community as to what they would like to see from their school district.
Our District Scorecard now has a fifth pillar: Student and Staff Wellness. This pillar is added to our scorecard for a total of five pillars that we strive to improve progress. Student Achievement, People, Service, Student and Staff Wellness and Fiscal Responsibility are the five core areas we will measure for the 2019-2020 school year.
Merrill Adult Diploma Academy Relocation MADA now has a new location! They are now located in the basement of the City Hall building at 1004 East First Street. The Buildings and Grounds Department has done an amazing job of preparing this wonderful facility. Instruction continued throughout the renovation as everything was in place during the shortened time between semesters.
We greatly appreciate Todd and Renea Frederick’s generosity in allowing us to use the former location for so many years!
MAPS Administrators to Present in Milwaukee The MAPS administrative team is pleased to accept the invitation to be one of the presenting districts at this year’s What’s Right in Education Conference in Milwaukee. This leadership conference is attended by administrators all over the country and is an excellent opportunity for us to showcase our hard work. The conference is sponsored by Studer Education, the leadership partner who assists our district with our scorecard, surveys, strategic measures and progress monitoring tools.
Shared During the Interview Process I recently had the opportunity to interview candidates for several of our leadership positions in the district. I was pleased by the volume of candidates applying for positions and equally impressed by the strong qualities they possessed. A couple of the candidates shared their observations worthy of mentioning. They observed that whenever their respective districts posted job vacancies, they rarely, if ever, witnessed any MAPS employees apply for their positions. 1 of 2
We have come a long way in the past three years. Like the community, this is a very hard-working and dedicated staff. I am proud of our Bluejays, from our students and teachers, to our support staff, custodians and building/district leaders.
