T.B Scott Library’s ‘Words Worth Hearing’ to feature Deidre Capone

Deidre Marie Capone, niece of Al Capone and author of Uncle Al Capone, will be speaking at the Merrill High School Auditorium on Tuesday, August 13, beginning at 6 p.m. Doors will open at 5:30.
At 79 years old, Deidre only knew Capone as a charismatic, fun-loving uncle that was a joy to be around. However, if family business needed to be discussed, “The Outfit” Uncle Al turned on his steely eyes and stern scowl so no one would challenge him. In Al’s own words “The country wanted booze, and I organized it. Why should I be called a ‘public enemy’?”

This Words Worth Hearing Series program and historic informative peek into the private life of the Capone family program, is made possible through local area businesses as well as TB Scott Free Library.
