Driver trapped for hours after Tomahawk area crash

On Saturday at 4:47 a.m. Lincoln County Dispatch 911 Center received a call of a one-vehicle crash on Cty. CC just east of Jones Road. The caller advised the vehicle was in the trees and was not able to tell if anyone was in the vehicle.

The first deputy on scene determined there was a person that was trapped inside the vehicle. Tomahawk EMS and Tomahawk Fire Department were paged to the scene. The Tomahawk Fire Department used extrication tools to get the make party out of the vehicle.

The 22-year-old Tomahawk man was transported to Sacred Heart Hospital and then transported to Aspirus Wausau Hospital for non-life threatening injuries.

The male stated he was trapped in the vehicle for about three hours before anyone found him.

The driver was cited for OWI first offense, with other charges possible.
