THS topped twice

The Hatchet boys ran into hot-handed Antigo in Friday’s 77-44 road loss, four days after dropping a 57-44 contest in Rib Lake.
“We ran into a team that just didn’t miss,” THS coach Tim Albert said of Antigo. “They had 12 three’s on the night, and probably shot over 50% from behind the arc. Almost all of those threes made saw us closeout and challenge well.”
The Red Robins built a 21-10 lead in the first quarter with help from five treys, and used four more to make it 37-20 at the half.
“Antigo had one of the best shooting quarters I have seen in recent years,” Albert said of the second quarter. “They were 9-11 behind the arc and only one of those threes was uncontested.”
Justin Jarvensivu (14 points), Brandon Vecchio (11), Jordan Roessler (5) and Riley Tollison (5), Andrew Olson (3) and  Kyle Olson (3) keyed Tomahawk scoring.

The Hatchets out-scored Rib Lake 17-13 in the third quarter to pull within 38-37, but the hosts put it away with a 19-7 fourth.
“We had a tough time defending their bigs,” Albert said. “They did some nice high low action and once they got the ball inside they were able to convert.”
THS (1-7 GNC, 3-11 overall) was paced by Roessler (16 points), Jarvensivu (15), Vecchio (10) and Olson (3).
