A little home cooking

The THS co-ed track took advantage of their position as regional hosts on Monday, serving up several top performances that rate a sectional look.
The girls finished a super-solid second overall while the boys were edged out of third by a single point.
“It was great to run under the lights at home,” Hatchet coach John Zuelsdorf said. “Our sprinters, jumpers, and distance runners really came through tonight with solid times and distances. We struggled a little in the throws and hurdles, which affected the overall team scoring depth. Mosinee’s girls and Nekoosa’s boys were just too deep to touch tonight for the team title.
“We’ll be well-represented at Colby on Thursday and have a nice contingent of athletes competing for the opportunity to advance thru to UW-LaCrosse.”
The boys picked up double winners in Matt Gerber (100, :10.74/ 200, :21.87) and Bryan Tomek (800, 2:02.64/ 1600, 4:44.96).
