Merrill Bluejay Trap shooters bring home two golds and a bronze from Badger State Games

On May 18, 2024, nine Merrill Bluejay Trap Team shooters competed at the Badger State Games at the Wausau Skeet & Trap Club. Gold, silver, and bronze medals are awarded to the top males and females in each shooting division, and three of the nine Merrill shooters brought home medals from the event: two golds and a bronze.
Youth (junior) shooters compete based on their age on the date of the event, with divisions for age 13 and under, age 14-15, and age 16-18.
High Gun Overall went to Matthew Maas of Gleason who shot a 97 in four rounds of shooting in the age 14-15 division. He had three rounds of 24 and one round with a perfect 25. Maas brought home a gold medal.
Merrill’s Maria Ashbrenner took home a gold medal for High Overall Female in the age 14-15 division with a score of 88.
And Bradley Schmidt brought home a bronze medal, shooting a score of 73, in the age 13 and under division.
