MERRILL POLICE DEPARTMENT REPORTS

03-11-24
At approximately 6:56 p.m. an officer was dispatched to the 200 block of E. First St. for a report of a possible violation of court order. The court order advised that a specific individual was not supposed to be within 100 feet from a residence. The officer investigated the incident and it was determined that no violation had occurred.
At approximately 3:32 p.m. officers were dispatched to the Lincoln County Social Services building at 607 N. Sales St. in regards to 15-year-old juvenile making suicidal threats. The juvenile was assessed by a North Central health Care professional and was then transported to NCHCC in Wausau.

At 1:10 p m. officers took an individual into custody for a probation violation.
At 5:08 p m. officers were called to an apartment complex for a report of a male subject creating a disturbance. Officers ultimately arrested the male subject for disorderly conduct. The male subject posted bond at the jail and returned to the apartment complex later on, creating another disturbance. Officers responded back and arrested the male subject again for disorderly conduct and bail jumping. The male subject was also cited for possession of THC and drug paraphernalia.

At 3:34 p.m. the School Resource Officer investigated a student who brought a nicotine vaping device to school.
At 3:47 p.m. a bus driver reported a vehicle disregarded the bus flashing lights and stop arm when the bus was letting children off. The officer located the driver and he was cited for the stop arm violation.
At 9:54 p.m. a caller reported drug activity at a residence. An officer met with the man who admitted he had drugs in the residence and pointed out a locked case and a marijuana pipe sitting on a table. The man became enraged at an officer who showed up to assist and had to be restrained by two other officers. The man then began kicking his door and pulling away from officers. The man was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia, disorderly conduct, resisting an officer, and probation violation.
At 11:37 p.m. a caller reported he had been kicked out of the residence following an argument in the residence he was staying at. It was found the altercation was merely a verbal argument. Arrangements were made for the man to be picked up by a family member.

At 7:41 a.m. a caller reported someone entered her unlocked garage sometime overnight and stole money out of an unlocked car in the garage. Investigation is ongoing.
At 10:19 a.m. a caller reported she became involved in a scam after purchasing an item online. Following her purchase, she received a phone call from someone claiming to be PayPal about disputing a charge. The caller provided various personal information to the person, claiming to be affiliated with PayPal. The caller indicated she has never had a PayPal account. Investigation is ongoing.

At 6:44 p.m. a caller reported finding damage to her vehicle while it was parked along the street overnight. The vehicle that struck the caller’s vehicle fled without reporting the incident. Investigation is ongoing.
At 8:49 p.m. a caller reported his brother had battered him at his residence. It was found the brother was upset over some parking tickets the caller allegedly accumulated while using the brother’s vehicle. The brother reportedly entered the caller’s residence and placed his hands and arm across his neck at one point and punched him several times. The brother then left and returned to his residence in Marathon County. Marathon County was able to locate the brother and arrested him for the charges in Merrill. The brother was charged for domestic strangulation/suffocation and domestic battery.
