Arnold Philip “Arnie” Bushar

Arnold Philip “Arnie” Bushar, age 71, of Merrill, WI, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on Thursday, March 21, 2024, after a brief but strong fight against cancer.  Arnie was born on July 22, 1952, in Merrill, WI, to the late Arnold Bushar, Sr., and Patricia (Brown) Bushar.

Arnie had a fulfilling career at House Of Merrill, Semco, Graphic Packaging, and Goetsch’s. He was a dedicated employee and made many lasting friendships.  He had a quiet, but deep faith and felt the closest to that in the outdoors.  Arnie was an outdoorsman at heart; he was a hunter, fisherman, and an avid gardener.  Arnie especially loved chopping firewood for winter. He was also a master craftsman who, along with Cindy, built their house and hunting shack that he was very proud of.  Arnie was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Merrill.

Arnie is lovingly survived by his sons, Aaron (Jamie) Bushar, and Arick (Josey) Bushar; his three grandchildren whom he loved dearly and was especially proud of, Ace Bushar, Hana Bushar, and Alexander Bushar; his brother, Bruce Bushar; and his sisters, Doreen (David) Viesselmann, Lynn (Jim) Wolff, Dawn Winchell, Pamela (John) Wopp, Mary (David) Fredrick, Peggy Bowen, and Holly Bushar. He is also lovingly survived by Cindy (Mittelsteadt) Bushar, Pam (Paul) Schotz, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.Arnie was preceded in death by his son, Philip A Bushar; his father, Arnold Bushar, Sr.; his mother, Patricia (Brown) Bushar; his father-in-law, Carl Mittelsteadt; and his mother-in-law, Elaine (Wendt) Mittelsteadt.

Per Arnie’s request, no formal services will be held.  A celebration of life gathering will be held at a later date to honor and remember his life.  The family would like to extend a special thank you to Compassus Hospice, many friends and family, and to Arnie’s second family at Newood Tap. Your kindness will be remembered forever.  Generations Funeral Home & Crematory is assisting the family.  You may view Arnie’s obituary and leave online condolences at
