Gilbert Allen Forster of Antigo passed away on March 3, 2024 under the care of his family and LeRoyer Hospice. He was 71 years old.
Gilbert was born on May 6, 1952 in Merrill to the late Gilbert and Eunice (Chilsen) Forster. He was raised in Gleason and attended Merrill High School. He was united in marriage to Flora Hanson on July 7, 1969 in Clayton, MO.
Gilbert was an owner, operator truck driver and was an avid Harley rider. He treasured most of all the times that were spent with his wife, children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and friends.
In addition to his wife, Gilbert is survived by children Joe (Dan Neumann) Forster, Angie (Randy) Close, J.R. (Keah) Forster and Ed Theilman, grandchildren Alex, Bubba, Jed, Chance, Kouper, Arrionna, and Anthony, and great grandchildren Deakon, Braelyn, and Waylon.
In addition to his parents, Gilbert was preceded in death by a daughter Amanda Theilman, father-in-law and mother-in-law Willard and Ardena Hanson, and many other members of the Forster and Hanson families.
A memorial service for Gilbert will be held on Saturday, March 9, 2024 at Calvary Lutheran Church at 10:30 AM with Pastor Jennifer Sosinski officiating. Visitation will take place prior to the service at the church from 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM.
