MAPS accepts January donations

The following donations were approved and/or accepted at the January 2024 Merrill Area Public Schools (MAPS) Board of Directors meeting:
A donation of funds from Merrill High School Band Endowment Fund, Inc. valued at $7,140.88 for the instrumental music program at Merrill High School; donation of 2500 pairs of Bomba socks from Kocourek Kids Program valued at $25,000 for the MAPS Nest and distribution to students in need in the District; a check from Misty Welch valued at $30.00 from a fundraiser at Vibe Out Nutrition for MAPS Student Council; cash from an anonymous donor valued at $1,000.00 for use at Kate Goodrich Elementary School for a school presentation from an outside vendor; gift cards from Secret Santa valued at $2,000.00 for student use at Kate Goodrich Elementary School; a monetary donation from Xi Alpha Nu valued at $50.00 for the PRMS Nest; hats and gloves from the Mitten Tree valued at $150.00 for student use at Kate Goodrich Elementary School; three sports books valued at approximately $34.00 for use at the Merrill High School; money from the following donors for the Merrill High School Nest: Lee Ann Lindquist, $100.00; Jordan & Bree Kratz, $50.00; Von & Charise Saunders, $50.00; Ann Iattoni, $100.00; Debbie Moellendorf, $250.00; and Matt & Sarah Thomas, $75.00; a monetary donation from Park City Cares Foundation valued at $2,250.00 for the MHS Fab Lab to purchase a portable CNC Router; a monetary donation from Matt & Sarah Thomas valued at $75.00 for the Prairie River Middle School Nest; hats and gloves for every student at PRSYL from the Merrill High School DECA and Business Classes valued at $400.00 from the Warm Hands, Warm Hearts Project; the gift of money from an anonymous donor valued at $1,000.00 for helping families in need in MAPS; and funds from Henry & Patricia Zomchek valued at $25.00 for the Merrill School Forest in memory of Eldridge Curtis.
