My aunt, Caroline Flanigan(Seetan), RN, BSN passed away at the age of 79 years young. She passed peacefully at the skilled nursing facility that she was being cared for, in Racine WI. Her recent ailments compounded the underlying diagnosis of leukemia. She was tired and ready to depart this world to be with her family, friends and pets that have already passed over.
In addition to me, Jill Seetan (Kelly Kaetterhenry), she was survived by my brother Rob Seetan (Mickie Pearsal), our children Dylan Van Camp, Devyn Van Camp, Ethyn Van Camp and the “sister-cousins” Tehya Van Camp and Pieper Seetan, and her sister-in-law Charlene Seetan. We can’t forget my doghter Ella and Robs dog Rudy, who auntie loved getting visits from. In addition to her many friends, that are just too many to list, two have played a significant part in her life. Her lifelong friend and penpal from Ireland, Arthur Blake, and her “partner in crime” Audrey Miller. Finally, is her cat Frosty, who I will happily care for as my aunt would want me to.
Aunt Carol was preceded in death by too many of her loved ones. Those most closely connected are her parents, Robert (Bob) & Lillian (Lil) Seetan, her brother Robert (Butch) Seetan, her long time partner John Phillips and her previous husband and friend, Jim Flanigan. Lastly, but no less important to her, were her most recent and devoted companions, her cats Quincy and Anna.
My aunt was a nurse all her life and achieved many awards and recognitions. She loved caring for her patients and cared for them as if they were a part of her family. She held many roles during her career, but always gave the care she expected to be given to her or her family and friends.
We will be having a mass at St. John’s the Baptist Catholic Church, in Bloomville, at 12:00pm on January 27th with a gathering at Bubba’s Pub in Merrill after, until 4:00pm. Friends of her, and her family, are welcome to stop by. Condolences may be sent to [email protected]
