Senator Mary Felzkowski, Representative Calvin Callahan, and Representative Rob Swearingen are holding an open forum to discuss the 2023 Gun Deer Season. The public forum, open to all, is this Thursday, Dec. 21, 2023, from 5:30 p.m.-7 p.m. at the Woodruff Town Hall, 1418 First Ave., in Woodruff. “Although the DNR issued just 1% fewer tags than last year, deer harvests declined by nearly 20%,” Callahan said. “We want to hear from you, not Madison bureaucrats. We want to hear your thoughts and experiences on this year’s hunt, including the gray wolf’s impact on the deer population.”
The trio has also invited Governor Tony Evers, Attorney General Josh Kaul, DNR Deputy Secretary Steven Little, and the members of the Natural Resources Board, so they can have the opportunity to hear from the public as well. The discussion will not be live-streamed, so be sure to attend in-person if you want to have your voice heard.
