MADD needs volunteers

The local group organizing Make A Difference Day (MADD) leaf raking in Merrill for the city’s elderly and disabled residents say they are in need of more volunteers.
The event is scheduled for this Saturday, Nov. 4, 2023, and is Merrill’s 28th annual Make A Difference Day event. But the event can only be a success for the community with adequate volunteers to get the jobs done. And the more, the merrier. Working together with family and friends makes the raking fun!
Volunteers should be at the T.B. Scott Library in Merrill for 8:30 a.m. registration and should come with rakes and gloves and be able to provide transportation to work sites around the community.
Projects will run from 9 a.m. until about 12 noon, and cookies, soda, and water will be provided for volunteers.
“Please consider giving a few hours of your time to help those in our community in need,” organizers said. “Working together—WE CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE!”
Those who signed up to have their yards raked are reminded to have plenty of clear plastic bags available if they would like their leaves bagged.
