Weinbrenner Shoe Company’s Thorogood American Heritage Tobacco Safety Toe Work Boots made it into the top four in the Manufacturing Madness competition conducted statewide by the Wisconsin Manufacturers & Commerce (WMC) and Johnson Financial Group to select the 2023 Coolest Thing Made in Wisconsin.
On Wednesday, Oct. 11, 2023, WMC announced the four finalists and the final round of voting. Thorogood’s Boots were up against three other finalists: The Bevi Bottleless Water Dispenser manufactured by Plexus Corp. in Neenah; Applewood Smoked Bacon produced by Nueske’s Applewood Smoked Meats in Wittenberg; and the Ariens® 90th Anniversary Limited Edition Sno-Thro made by AriensCo in Brillion.
On Oct. 19 the official winner was announced at WMC’s Business Day in Madison, and the Bevi Bottleless Water Dispenser produced by Plexus Corp. in Neenah was named the official 2023 Coolest Thing Made in Wisconsin.
While Thorogood Work Boots didn’t win the 2023 honors, Weinbrenner’s employees can be encouraged by the tremendous statewide support for the products they produce, and the owners and wearers of Thorogood footwear will continue to enjoy the benefits of high quality work footwear every day.
