Labor Day celebrates the everyday people who go to work every day in every occupation in our country to keep our society functioning. Here in Merrill residents celebrated with the annual Merrill Labor Day parade, with candy for the kids, followed by the annual Lions Labor Day Car Show at the Merrill Festival Grounds. Many of the food stands were also open for the occasion, providing for great food and great fundraising opportunities for those local organizations whose volunteers were working in the stands.
And it looks like a good time was had by all who attended, despite the heat!
