The Merrill Area United Way (MAUW) will kick off its annual fall fundraising campaign with Concert For a Cause, featuring Leslie Blasing, on Tuesday, Aug. 8, 2023, at the Northwoods Veterans Post, 601 Johnson St. in Merrill. Doors will open at 5 p.m. for social time and appetizers, and the concert begins at 6 p.m. A cash bar will be available.
Blasing, from South Padre Island, Tex., incorporates music from nine decades and pop, country, and classic rock genres and gives a high-energy performance that engages the audience and gets toes tapping and concert-goers singing along. She has opened for well-known country artists and been named #1 Entertainer in Texas numerous times.
Major event sponsors include FreMarq Innovations and Crossbridge Community Bank. In addition, Merrill Tool and Water Jet, Brickner’s Park City, Inc., Park City Credit Union, Geiss Meat Service, Nicolet National Bank, and Pine Ridge Convenience Stores are financial sponsors.
Advance tickets can be purchased in person (cash only) from the Merrill Area Chamber of Commerce, Northwoods Veterans Post, Dave’s County Market, Park City Credit Union, and Merrill Foto News in Merrill.
Tickets are also available at Festival Foods and the City Pages office in Wausau; at Park City Credit Union in Tomahawk and Minocqua; and at Park City Credit Union and the Buyers Guide in Rhinelander.
