MAPS accepts May donations

The following donations were approved and/or accepted at the May 17, 2023, Merrill Area Public Schools (MAPS) Board of Directors meeting:
Donation of funds from the Friends of the Forest valued at approximately $40,000 for a shelter to be constructed by the pond at the Merrill School Forest; donation of funds from Merrill Aqua Jay Swim Team valued at $9,025 for a 6-lane scoreboard to provide a scoreboard in remote areas during meets as well as for outdoor events; donation of funds from the Merrill Foundation valued at $3,000 for the Merrill High School (MHS) Senior Celebration; donation of funds from Habitat for Humanity valued at $5,000 for The Nest at Merrill High School; donation of funds from Habitat for Humanity valued at $5,000 for The Nest at Prairie River Middle School; funds from Incredible Bank valued at $1,000 for the Washington Elementary School 4th grade Madison trip; a check from Culver’s of Merrill valued at $50 for supplies for a color run through the MHS DECA; a check from Drew Polak valued at $250 for the MHS Fab Lab; a monetary donation from XI ALPHA NU valued at $50 for The Nest at MHS; library books from Marie Rein valued at $25 for the Washington Elementary School Library in memory of Kimberly Boyce (1972-2023); a portable LCD scale from the Merrill Wrestling Club valued at $780 for use in the MAPS wrestling program; the following donations for the Kate Goodrich Elementary School PBIS Program: a check from Wendorf Bussing valued at $100; and, a check from the Merrill Foundation valued at $500.
