A 51-year-old Merrill woman was taken into custody on the evening of Thursday, April 6, following an incident at a residence in the Town of Pine River. A preliminary investigation indicated the woman was intoxicated and made threatening comments to another party inside the residence. As a result, she was taken into custody on a charge of domestic violence related disorderly conduct.
Four motorists reported striking deer last week, same as the week before.
A 24-year-old Brantwood man avoided injury following a one-vehicle crash Sunday night, April 16, in the Town of Tomahawk. A preliminary investigation indicated the vehicle the man was operating was eastbound on State Rd. 86 east of Zenith Tower Rd. when it lost control due to road conditions, entered the ditch, and rolled over.
A 50-year-old Gleason man was taken into custody following a traffic stop in the Town of Harrison on Sunday afternoon. A deputy on patrol stopped the vehicle the man was operating near the intersection of State Rd. 17 and Town Hall Rd., after observing it having difficulty staying within its lane of travel. Following a preliminary investigation, the man was taken into custody and transported to the Lincoln County Jail on a 6th offense charge of operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated.
A 47-year-old Amherst woman was taken into custody following a traffic stop Saturday night, April 15, in the Town of Skanawan. A deputy on patrol on US Hwy. 51 stopped the vehicle near the intersection with Cty. Rd. S, after observing the vehicle traveling 87 mph in a 65 mph speed zone. Following a preliminary investigation, the woman was taken into custody on a first offense charge of operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated and later released to a responsible party.
A 17-year-old Tomahawk man was taken into custody following an incident in the Town of Bradley on the evening of Tuesday, April 11.
A deputy on patrol near the intersection of Cty. Rd. L and Derleth Rd. observed a vehicle pass her patrol vehicle in a no-passing zone and attempted to stop the vehicle. After activating her patrol vehicle’s lights and siren, the vehicle the man was operating continued northbound on Cty. Rd. L at speeds in excess of 100 mph. The vehicle and driver were later located at a residence, where the man was taken into custody and transported to the Lincoln County Jail on a charge of fleeing and eluding an officer.
Eleven motorists reported striking deer in Lincoln County this past week, up from four the week before.
