Oliver Schemehorn

Oliver Schemehorn, 81, of Weston, passed away Wednesday, October 5, 2022, at Care Partners Assisted Living in Weston. Oliver was born December 20, 1940, in Merrill, son of the late Raymond and Josephine (Ditsworth) Schemehorn. Oliver had worked at a candy factory and foundry in the Milwaukee Area. When he moved back to the Merrill area, he worked at Prehn’s Quarry, Wausau Lumber Sales, and Consumer’s Co-op. Oliver enjoyed hunting, fishing, photography, and videography. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and watching their sporting events. He enjoyed watching the Green Bay Packers.

Oliver is survived by two daughters, Jo Ann (Keith ‘Harvey’) Meyer of Merrill and Diana (Dan) Trumblay of Merrill; two sons, Ricky Schemehorn of Merrill and Ted Kniprath; nine grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; one great-grandchild on-the-way; and two sisters, Lydia Henke of Merrill and Consuelo ‘Connie’ Kriha of Milwaukee. Oliver was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Josephine Schemehorn; former spouse, Delores Schemehorn; infant son, Raymond Oliver Schemhorn; and siblings, Donald, Clayton, Alman, Marlin, William, and Ramona Schemehorn, Lucille Stoltz, Barbara Reifschneider, Geraldine Cressy, and an infant sibling.

The funeral service for Oliver will be held at 11:00 A.M., Friday, October 14, 2022, at the Taylor-Stine Funeral Home, Merrill. Rev. Greg Laska will officiate. Visitation will begin at 10:00 A.M. Friday at the funeral home. Burial will take place at Chat Cemetery, Town of Birch, Lincoln County. Taylor-Stine Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Merrill, is assisting the family. The family would like to thank Care Partners Assisted Living in Weston for the great care they gave Oliver. They would also like to thank Compassus Hospice for their care and support.
