Barbara Ann Hull passed away October 6, 2022 in Oconto, Wisconsin. She was born January 30, 1936 in Ladysmith, Wisconsin to Ansel and Laura Hayes. After graduating from Ladysmith High School in 1954, Barbara attended UW-Superior where she met her future husband, Roy D. Hull. Barbara and Roy were married June 6, 1956 and were together until Roy’s passing in 2011. They raised two sons, Michael (Kristine) Hull of Oconto, Wisconsin and Mark (Wendy) Hull of Forest Lake, Minnesota. Five grandchildren survive: Drew Hull of Forest Lake, MN, Caitlin (Jeff) Moen of Huntersville, NC, Jamison (Amanda) Hull of St. Paul, MN, Jonathan (Robin) Hull of Marthasville, MO and Nicholas (Jessica Wright) Hull of Oconto Falls, WI, along with 4 great-grandchildren and one more on the way.
Barbara lived in Merrill most of her adult life. She worked various jobs including as bookkeeper at Citizen’s American Bank, before returning to school at UW-Stevens Point where she earned a B.S. and M.S. in Education. Barbara began her teaching career, which was her passion, at St. Roberts School in Merrill, where she taught First Grade. After several years, she moved to the Merrill Public Schools where she spent many years teaching various elementary grades, working as a Reading Specialist, and acting as Principal for several years. In her free time, Barbara was an avid reader and bridge player. She also enjoyed spending time at the cottage she shared with Roy near Mercer, WI.
