MERRILL POLICE DEPARTMENT REPORTS

7-18-2022
At 10:53 a.m. an officer conducted a traffic stop on 2nd Street near Douglas St. The driver was cited for operating after revocation.
At 8:42 p.m. officers attempted to take a resident into custody for a failure to appear warrant through Lincoln County. The suspect was not at the residence.

7-19-2022
At 11:24 a.m. a female party was arrested for a probation violation at the Probation and Parole Office.
At 8:59 a.m. multiple agencies in Lincoln County attempted to locate a suspect from Marathon County. The Merrill Police Department, Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office, and Wisconsin State Patrol were involved with the agency assist.

7-20-2022
At 1:38 p.m. an individual reported seeing multiple teenagers enter a residence that he did not know if they were supposed to be in. Officers checked the area and residence but did not find anything suspicious occurring.
At 4:07 p.m. an individual reported hitting another vehicle with their car door. Upon further investigation, no damage was observed to either vehicle and so no enforcement action was taken.

7-21-2022
At 12:21 p.m. a two-vehicle crash was reported. It was found that one driver had failed to yield to the other vehicle and struck it on the side. A citation was issued to the driver who failed to yield and a crash report will be completed.

7-22-2022
At 11:43 a.m. officers were dispatched to a residence on E. Main St. for a welfare check. Last known contact with the resident was Tuesday 7-19-2022. An officer was able to gain entry and the resident needed immediate medical attention.
At 2:55 a.m. an officer responded to a local department/big box store for a report of a family panhandling on their property. The officer spoke with a male individual and the family left the property without incident.

7-23-2022
At approximately 4:10 a.m. officers were dispatched to a residence on N. Polk St. for a report of two males fighting. Officers arrived on scene and one of the male parties had a significant injury to his eye. The other male party was reported to have punched him in the face. He was arrested for battery and disorderly conduct.
At 1:25 p.m. an officer received a report of tires being slashed overnight on a vehicle parked near Cedar St. The investigation is ongoing.

7-24-2022
At 9:27 p.m. dispatch advised of suspicious activity near Cottage St. and State St. There was a report of an individual yelling and kicking at a door. Officers attempted to locate the individual without success.
