03-14-22

At 11:14 a.m. a store reported a female had attempted to steal merchandise. The female was cited for retail theft.

At 12:19 p.m. a laundromat reported someone had damaged the lock mechanisms and stolen the change from dryers. Investigation is ongoing.

At 4:59 p.m. a caller reported an intoxicated driver and hung up on dispatch. Contact was made with the caller and it was found her soon-to-be ex-husband had left the residence intoxicated following an argument. It was further found at one point he had attempted to head-butt her, but she prevented this by pushing him away. Contact was attempted with the male unsuccessfully. The male will be charged with domestic disorderly conduct.

At 1:21 p.m. decorative strips were reported stolen off of a vehicle. Investigation is ongoing.

At 12:20 p.m. officers responded to a juvenile male walking around the city that appeared to be disoriented. The juvenile was found to have taken multiple pills to cause the altered mental state. An ambulance was then requested to the scene and ended up transporting the male to the hospital for treatment.

At 9:35 a.m. a report was made that a known felon was possibly in possession of a firearm. After the individual’s vehicle was spotted in motion, a traffic stop was conducted on the vehicle. No firearm was located during a search of the vehicle. Based on the still unknown location of the firearm, a search warrant was obtained for the individual’s residence. One firearm, two loaded magazines, ammunition, and drug paraphernalia was located in the residence. The individual was taken into custody as a result of the search.

At 1:52 p.m. a vehicle was reported stolen from a residence. Officers have been unable to get ahold of the registered owner at this time to gather more information on the incident. Investigation is ongoing.

At 7:31 p.m. officers responded to a gas station for the security alarm going off. The building was cleared and contact was made with the manager. While reviewing security video, a separate theft was observed. Investigation is ongoing.

At 9:35 a.m. a caller reported someone feeding deer in violation of city ordinance.

At 1:39 p.m. a store reported a male in the store that had stolen merchandise in December 2021. The employee was able to provide a registration plate for the suspect’s vehicle. Follow-up investigation is forthcoming.

At 9:40 p.m. a caller requested an ambulance after injuring her knee following a dispute with her girlfriend. It was found the girlfriend had grabbed the caller’s cell phone following a verbal argument and ran toward a bedroom, tipping over a laundry basket on the way, causing the caller to fall. The girlfriend was arrested for domestic disorderly conduct and probation violation.

At 1:04 p.m. a caller reported finding a syringe lying on the sidewalk. An officer located the syringe and properly disposed of it.

At 1:33 p.m. a tavern reported a female was at their establishment bothering other patrons, begging them to buy her drinks. The female was found to have a warrant for her arrest and was arrested for that warrant.

At 5:03 p.m. a caller reported someone entered her unlocked vehicle sometime overnight and stole a key fob.

At 6:19 p.m. a female and her son were being assessed for injuries at the emergency room, reporting they were involved in a domestic disturbance the previous night with the female’s boyfriend. It was reported the female and son were leaving the residence and the female attempted to bring some paperwork with her. The two got into an argument over the paperwork and the male pushed the female. This prompted the son to intervene, at which point the male pulled the son’s jacket over his head, pushed him outside, and slammed the door with such force the window broke. The male then grabbed the female around the neck, causing her to nearly lose consciousness. The female and son were then able to leave the residence. Contact was attempted with the male, but he refused to answer the door. He was arrested the following day after he went to the residence the female was temporarily staying at. He was charged with domestic battery, domestic strangulation/suffocation, physical abuse to a child, and bail jumping.

At 7:07 p.m. a caller requested assistance in getting a bag of merchandise back from another person. She reported she had given a ride to another citizen to Wausau to purchase groceries. On the return trip the two got into an argument about politics, and she kicked him out of the vehicle. In grabbing his bags, he accidentally grabbed one of hers and left one of his. Contact was made with the male who reported he threw her bag, containing candy, into the ditch, as he was upset about the argument. The female did not wish for any enforcement action, citing he had paid for gas so she considered them even. She returned the male his bag of goods.

03-20-22

At 2:12 a.m. a caller reported seeing a young male enter his neighbor’s vehicle. He yelled out to the male who then fled on foot. Contact was later made with the neighbor who reported nothing missing from her vehicle.

At 8:07 a.m. a caller reported someone was trying to break into the residence. The suspect was found to be a male that officers were looking to arrest following a domestic disturbance from the previous day. The male was arrested for charges from the previous incident.

At 1:49 p.m. a school reported someone caused damage to a shed on the property. Investigation continues.

At 2:33 p.m. an officer saw a male he knew had a warrant for his arrest. Contact was made with the male, and he was arrested for the warrant.

At 8:34 p.m. a store employee reported finding a baggie containing suspected drugs at the store. An officer collected a gem bag containing what appeared to be methamphetamine. The store will be reviewing surveillance video to see if a suspect can be determined. The substance field tested positive for methamphetamine.
