MAPS accepts January donations

The following donations were approved and/or accepted at the Jan. 26 Merrill Area Public Schools (MAPS) Board of Directors meeting:

Funds from Matthew & Autumn Laabs valued at $48.00 for the PRMS 7th Grade Mid-Year trip for students in need of assistance; the following donations for PBIS incentives at Prairie River Middle School (PRMS): 13 gift certificates from Ana Blair’s valued at $130.00; gift certificates from Hugo’s Pizza valued at $325.00; 13 gift certificates from Brickner’s Park City valued at $260.00; cash from Kevin Blake, First Weber, valued at $260.00; a check from Wisconsin State Council Knights of Columbus valued at $1,241.59 for funding activities and events or items needed for students with disabilities in the MHS Special Education Department; money from Secret Santa valued at $2,000.00 for student needs at PRMS; a Christmas tree from Fritz’s Mountain valued at $50.00 for providing a learning experience about tree farms for the children of Pine River School for Young Learners (PRSYL); 6 winter coats from an Anonymous Donor valued at $150.00 for the PRSYL students in need; clothes from Ron, Lor, Morgan, and Casi McAllister valued at $150.00 for students in need at PRSYL; books from an Anonymous Donor valued at $2,425.00 for handing books out at the Christmas Parade; a donation from Jim Kruesel valued at $1,000.00 for supporting staff and students at Washington Elementary School (WES) during the holiday season; hand sanitizer from Family Dollar valued at $328.50 for use at WES; and, hats, mittens and socks from Renea & Todd Frederick valued at $75.00 for students in need at Kate Goodrich Elementary School.
