Two Merrill men avoided injury following a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of County Rd. W and Center Rd. in the Town of Pine River Monday afternoon. Both vehicles had to be towed from the scene, and the intersection was blocked for over three hours until the scene was cleared.
A 21-year-old Merrill man was arrested on charges of operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated, possession of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia following a traffic stop in the Town of Merrill Monday afternoon.

A 21-year-old Athens man was stopped and cited for first offense operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated Saturday evening on W. Main St in the City of Merrill after a deputy observed the vehicle fail to stop at a stop sign, then strike a guardrail in the area of S. Alexander St.
