DPI announces increase in private schools registered for Private School Choice Programs for 2022-23 school year

The Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction reports an increase in private schools participating in the state’s three Private School Choice Programs. On Feb. 1, 2022, the application period opened for parents/guardians to apply for their students for the 2022-23 school year.

The state’s three Private School Choice Programs allow eligible students to attend a participating private school in K4 through grade 12. The private school, on behalf of the student’s parent, receives a state aid payment for each eligible student.

In our readership area, the following schools currently participate:  St. John Lutheran School in Merrill, St. Mary’s Catholic School in Tomahawk, St. Anthony de Padua Catholic School in Athens, Trinity Lutheran School in Merrill, and Trinity Lutheran School in Athens.
