Lynne Ellen Scott

Lynne Ellen Scott, 79, of Mohawk, MI, passed away on Dec. 19. 2021 after a brief battle caused by a bleed from a second aneurysm that was inoperable.  She was in Mississippi with her daughter while recovering from a previous aneurysm when the second bleed reared its ugly head.  Lynne was born on Nov. 20,1942 to Sidney A. More and Gertrude Scott in Merrill, Wis. She had one brother, Dean R. After retiring, she bought her house in the UP Michigan where she made her home with many friends and community for almost 30 years.  She was a strong woman, with a great sense of humor.  Just as strong in her faith she often engage in conversations that would last for hours.   When you first met her, by the time you left, you felt like you had known her your whole life.  Everyone called her “Mom”.   She loved her animals and you would always see her throwing out seeds for the chipmunks, fruit for her deer, and you could find her house lined with bird feeders especially for her hummingbirds.  She spent her time researching genealogy and crafting for any and all occasions often helping by buying back the things she donated to local charities.  She said once she realized they were hers already, she always liked them better the second time around.  Lynne was predeceased by both parents and her only brother.

She is survived by her daughter Karen (Sandy) of Ocean Springs, MS, and sons Keith of Biloxi, MS, James (Amanda) of Chippewa Falls, WIS and David (Shellie) of Gulfport, MS and a boatload of grandkids and great-grandkids. Details of funeral arrangements and a celebration of her life are still in the making.
