John passed away at King’s Veterans Home in Waupaca, Wisconsin on November 14, 2021 at the age of 81. He had resided there for the past few years. John was born in Merrill March 21, 1940. Son of Alfred and Laura Johnson. John and Lois Tollar were married in 1960. She preceded him in death in 2013. He was honorably discharged from the United States Army. Upon his return to Merrill, John purchased his father’s painting business. He named it Jonson and Son Painting. John enjoyed hunting, fishing, and traveling. But his greatest passion was spending time with his Grandchildren.
John is survived by one son, Ross Alfred Johnson, Wausau. One Grandson, Noah John Johnson, Wausau, and two Granddaughters, Mya Johnson and Opheli Stevenson. He is also survived by two sisters, Phyllis Reinhardt, and Janet Beyer, both of Merrill. Two brothers, David (Roxie) Johnson, Merrill and Mark (Pat) Johnson of Irma. Aunt, Uncle and many nieces and nephews.
