Jean Ann Catlin (Nee Kleinschmidt)

Jean Ann Catlin (Nee Kleinschmidt) age 88 passed away peacefully at Pine Crest Nursing Home under the care of her family and Aspirus Hospice Services.  She was born in Merrill on March 23, 1933, to Wilbert and Dora Kleinschmidt. She married Jerome J. Catlin on 12/22/1951 in the church where she was baptized and confirmed, St Stephens United Church of Christ, Merrill.  Jean was employed at several local factories in her lifetime with her retirement ending at Fox Point Sportswear.  The job she loved the most was taking care of her children, grandchildren, and her other “grands”, Hugh, Keary, Madi and EJ. She had many other families too, including pool, cards and camping families. She loved shooting pool, playing cards with her friends, crocheting, camping and painting ceramics.

She is survived by three daughters, Sharon Waldburger, TN, Sandra Krueger, Athens, Sue Rambis (Eric)of Kenosha; two sons, David and Daren (Sue) Catlin of Merrill and daughter-in-law Diana Catlin of Merrill; One sister, Darlene (Jeff) Hanig of Merrill; 9 grandchildren, Jay, Daniel, Veronica, Anna, Kory, Jennifer, Claire, Tyler and Michael; 7 great grandchildren, Megan, Shyanne, Caitlyn, Brianna, Devon, Alyssa, Jaxon and 3 great-great grandchildren Korie, Liam, Leia and Gunner, expected in December, 2021. She also has many cousins, nieces, nephews, and close friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, baby brother Leroy; husband of 58 years, Jerome in 2008; her son Daniel in 2011 and her son-in-law Jeff in 2020.

Funeral services for Jean will be at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, October 19, 2021, at the Taylor-Stine Funeral Home, Merrill. The Rev. Mike Southcombe will officiate. Visitation will be from 12 Noon until the time of the service at the funeral home. Taylor Stine Funeral Home and Cremation Services is assisting the family.
