To the Editor:
Nearly 100 years ago the Merrill City Fathers invited the Holy Cross Sisters to Merrill to build a hospital. We responded with years of dedication in the areas of healthcare, education, and care for the elderly of Merrill.
We’ve come to know and love the people of Merrill. We take pride in Merrill as our city and community. We are saddened that not even half of Lincoln County is vaccinated. The COVID virus is on the rise once again.
COVID is not a political issue, it is a major health concern. Can one be Pro-Life and not care for the health of others? The Holy Cross Sisters urge the unvaccinated in Merrill, and throughout our county, to prevent the spread of the COVID virus and its variants by getting vaccinated and wearing masks. Unity surpasses division. Together we can prevent the spread of the COVID virus, promote the common good, and build a better, safer community.
