08-02-2021
At 9:41 a.m. officers took a report of a fraud incident with the IRS involving a resident. Investigation is ongoing.
At 11:04 a.m. officers took a report of a theft of a cell phone from a residence. Investigation is ongoing.
At 7:41 p.m. officers took a report from someone who saw a post made on social media about a party looking for housing for them and a child. The caller knew the party did not have a child and suspected they may have abducted a child. Further investigation revealed this was a misreading of the social media post and no child had been abducted.

At 8:39 a.m. a male was arrested for a probation violation at the request of the Wisconsin Department of Corrections.
At 11:13 a.m. a caller reported someone in an RV had struck her mother’s vehicle in a parking lot and left the scene. Investigation is ongoing.
At 12:58 p.m. a caller reported finding damage to her vehicle from a rock, believed to have been thrown at it.
At 2:39 p.m. a caller reported she found her outdoor swing tipped over and someone had cut the wiring to her outdoor light. She suspected a neighbor. The neighbor admitted to damaging the light, as he suspected the neighbor and her mother were tampering with the heating/AC in his apartment. He agreed to pay for the damage he caused.
At 11:26 p.m. officers assisted a citizen in removing a bat from her residence.

At 11:42 a.m. a business called about a diseased fox at the property. Officers responded and determined the animal was suffering and needed to be euthanized. The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources was contacted about the situation and to remove the animal.
At 4:26 p.m. a caller reported that he had found that his vehicle had water put into its fuel system. Investigation is ongoing.
At 7:16 p.m. a caller reported several youth operating dirt bikes on the roadway and in a vacant lot near their residence. Officers responded and found the parties had departed. Officers remind citizens that off-highway motorcycles are not allowed on city ATV routes.
At 7:28 p.m. a caller reported a party stealing material from a construction site. Officers located the male, who did have permission to take scrap wood from the site. The party misunderstood the items which he was allowed to take and returned the items.

At 11:58 a.m. a business called to report a theft by an employee. Investigation is ongoing.
At 12:34 p.m. a caller reported a suspicious male at a residence. It was found the male resided in one-half of the residence and believed someone was squatting in the adjacent apartment. Officers attempted contact at the residence without success. The matter was referred to the landlord of the residence for follow-up.
At 2:48 p.m. an officer stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation and found one of the occupants had an active warrant for their arrest.

At 1:49 a.m. an officer attempted to stop a vehicle for an equipment violation. The vehicle led the officer on a pursuit for a short distance until the officer terminated the pursuit. The vehicle was located shortly thereafter, unoccupied. Contact was made with the registered owner, who was out of town and refused to identify who may have been driving her vehicle. As such, enforcement action will be taken against the registered owner for owner’s liability, vehicle failing to yield right of way for emergency vehicle.
At 8:24 a.m. a store reported a male was at the store intoxicated and/or under the influence of drugs and was harassing staff and customers. An officer spoke to the man, and he was put on the bus to go home. An hour later, the man was reported at another business and was walking into traffic. An officer located the man at yet another store, and he was in the lot drinking an alcoholic beverage. He stated he left home to find his wallet that he lost the previous night. The man became belligerent with officers and was arrested for disorderly conduct.
At 9:09 a.m. a caller reported she returned home to find someone had uprooted her tomato plants and thrown them about the yard.
At 1:24 p.m. a caller reported he returned home and found someone had broken into his apartment and stolen his television. Investigation is ongoing.
At 5:45 p.m. an officer stopped a vehicle for an equipment violation. The officer observed a firearm concealed between the seat and door (later determined to be an airsoft gun). The driver was asked to step out of the vehicle and was found to be sitting on a marijuana grinder. A search of the vehicle revealed numerous other items of drug paraphernalia, including methamphetamine paraphernalia and a quantity of marijuana. The driver was arrested for possession of THC, possession of drug paraphernalia, and two counts of felony bail jumping.
At 6:15 p.m. a store reported a female had stolen a glass pipe.
At 7:46 p.m. a caller reported his toilet had been running for several days and he was unable to contact the landlord or maintenance to repair the issue. The officer discovered the chain in the tank was tangled and fixed the issue.
At 9:43 p.m. a store reported a male had shoplifted a 30-pack of beer. Officers have surveillance footage of the male and are attempting to identify him.
At 9:54 p.m. a caller reported a male in a tavern that had bond conditions that he could not be in taverns or consume intoxicants. Officers confirmed the man had two open bonds both prohibiting him from being in taverns and/or consuming intoxicants. The man was located in the tavern and arrested for two counts of bail jumping.
At 11:14 p.m. a caller reported receiving threatening text messages from an unknown number. The messages stated the sender was part of a violent Mexican drug cartel and threatened to harm the receiver and family unless she paid them $5,000 as punishment for interrupting their prostitution business. This scam attempt has been reported to the Police Department before and shows graphic pictures of decapitated people. The sender attempts to scam money by causing the receiver to fear for their life and family member’s lives to get them to send money.

At 2:32 p.m. a caller reported he could hear a woman screaming for help in an adjoining apartment, which was supposed to be vacant. Officers made entry and nobody was inside. Additional action may be forthcoming to the reporting party.
At 11:15 p.m. an officer located an occupied vehicle in a park after park curfew. A K9 was requested and the occupants of the vehicle admitted there was marijuana in the vehicle. One occupant was cited for possession of THC and drug paraphernalia.

At 8:39 p.m. a caller reported a domestic disturbance at a residence. An officer arrived and determined a male and female are separated, with the female moving into her own place. The male discovered the female had removed property from their previously shared residence and went to her new residence, where he drove in the lawn causing damage, kicked open a door causing damage, and proceeded to damage property inside of the residence. The male had left prior to officers’ arrival; however, he had driven past while officers were speaking to the female. An officer left the residence, located the vehicle, and conducted a traffic stop, at which point the male was arrested for domestic disorderly conduct, criminal damage to property, criminal trespass to dwelling, and felony bail jumping.
