07-26-2021
At 11:34 p.m. an officer responded to an intersection for a report of a fallen tree due to the storm. The officer located a large tree that had fallen and struck a parked vehicle. The tree was later removed by the Merrill Street Department.
07-27-2021
At 7:25 a.m. an officer responded to the 6th Ward bridges for an animal complaint, in reference to a raccoon being on the bridge and not moving. The officer located the raccoon and was able to assist the raccoon to safety off of the bridge.
07-28-21
At 8:32 a.m. a business reported they suspected an employee of stealing money. The employee admitted to stealing the money. Action to follow.
At 9:03 p.m. a vehicle became disabled in the roadway after crossing through a flooded portion of the roadway following heavy rain. Officers closed off the roadway, given the flooding, until the storm drains could catch up with the rainfall. The vehicle was removed.
At 9:17 p.m. another vehicle became disabled in the roadway after crossing through a flooded portion of the roadway following heavy rain. Officers closed off the roadway, given the flooding, until the storm drains could catch up with the rainfall. The vehicle was removed.
07-29-21
At 10:12 a.m. a female came to the Police Department to report someone stole the mirror off of her bicycle, as well as a water bottle.
At 2:15 p.m. a caller reported a male in a vehicle had been yelling profanities toward her as they waited in line at a pharmacy. The male then left but nearly struck the caller when she departed. The officer will be investigating further.
At 8:59 p.m. a store reported a female had shoplifted some merchandise from their store. Upon being confronted, the female left the purse she had concealed merchandise in and left prior to officer’s arrival. The store was able to provide surveillance video of the female, as well as still photos. The officer will be attempting to identify the female.
At 11:31 p.m. a caller reported her mother had slapped her following an argument. It was found her mother had since left the residence. After speaking with the caller’s father and boyfriend, there had been arguing throughout the day among them. The adult daughter entered the bedroom where the mother was to get something, which prompted further arguing, at which point the mother slapped the daughter. The mother will be charged with domestic disorderly conduct.
07-30-2021
At 2:20 a.m. officers were called to a local department store for a suspicious person complaint. Upon arrival, they located a female party that was in the store after hours. The female party was found to not be an employee and had a backpack on containing non purchased merchandise. The female was also found to be wearing multiple layers of clothing that were not purchased. A search of the backpack also produced a marijuana pipe. The female was arrested for burglary, theft, felony bail jumping, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
At 1:53 p.m. an officer responded to a theft complaint in reference to a stolen lawn mower. The lawn mower was stolen off of a trailer on the reporting party’s property. The investigation is ongoing.
At 11:36 p.m. officers responded to a local store for a report of two parties attempting to break in to a pickup truck in the parking lot. Officers arrived as the suspects were leaving the scene and stopped them. After a K9 sniff of the suspect vehicle and a positive alert, officers searched the vehicle. The search of the vehicle provided methamphetamine, fentanyl, and drug paraphernalia. The male suspect was arrested for possession of methamphetamine, possession of fentanyl, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

At 1:55 a.m. an officer conducted a traffic stop after observing the vehicle speeding and cross the center line. Upon contact with the driver, the officer detected an odor of intoxicants coming from the driver. The officer conducted field sobriety tests on the driver and, as a result, the driver was arrested for operating while under the influence.
08-01-2021
At 5:36 a.m. officers responded to a residence after an unwanted male party was found hiding behind a couch in the basement. It was found the male party had been looking in the windows of the home earlier in the evening and had been warned by the occupants of the home to leave and he was not welcome inside. The male later returned and snuck inside the residence where he proceeded to fall asleep. The male party was arrested for trespassing and cited for underage drinking.
At 8:18 p.m. officers responded to a residence for a welfare check after a loose parrot was found outside of the residence. Officers found that the homeowner was alright and that the bird had simply escaped the enclosed porch of the residence where it was kept.
